Covid level 4 lockdown continues – No Visitors

Dear residents, families and friends

As advised by the Prime Minister this afternoon, Auckland remains in level 4 lockdown until 11.59pm Tuesday 31st August 2021, pending a further evaluation on Monday 30th August 2021.

We understand that this extension to the lockdown may continue to cause a high degree of distress for residents and families, but we must continue to safeguard our most vulnerable residents and staff.
Again, the only exception to this will be the families of residents in palliative care or who are in end of life care and who are approved to visit by the Clinical Manager.
These visitors will be required to follow careful protocols for infection prevention and control, strict hygiene, wellness, and social distancing.

RESIDENT VACCINES
All residents who agreed to be vaccinated against Covid-19 have received their two doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
Due to the very high uptake, I can confirm that 93% of all residents have been fully vaccinated.

STAFF VACCINES
All staff who agreed to be vaccinated against Covid-19 have received their two doses of Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine.
Due to the very high uptake, I can confirm that 97% of all staff have been fully vaccinated.
This is one of the highest uptakes in the aged care sector, so we are very proud of our staff recognising the threat of Covid-19 and getting protection to safeguard our vulnerable residents and staff.

MANDATORY SIGN IN USING TECHNOLOGY
The Government has announced that signing into aged care facilities is now mandatory for all visitors, staff and contractors.

As previously required, we have the Covid-19 QR scanning codes at the entrance of all facilities for those with smart phones.
For others, we use a manual paper based sign in procedure.

As we are an innovative company, we have been developing the perfect solution which I can say is now ready to go.
For those without smart phones to scan we will remove the old paper based system and will set up a tablet on a stand at the entrance which will have the AgedConnect App Visitor Sign In preloaded to facilitate this process.

While we are operating under Level 4, Level 3 and Level 2 all visitors will be required to use this login procedure via the AgedConnect app regardless if the have already scanned in using the COVID Tracer App.
This is due the very strict entry requirements for aged care facilities by the Ministry of Health.

The AgedConnect app is a closed system only for Ambridge Rose, so it is not accessible by the general public.
This means it meets the privacy regulations, so you can be assured that the information stored will be kept private and only passed on to the Ministry of Health should the need arise.

VIDEO CALLING TO STAY CONNECTED

Don’t forget, we have the use of technology for you to communicate with your loved ones using video calling.
We have set up video calling using FaceTime, Viber, WhatsApp, and Skype as a way of staying connected.

This will work as follows:

  1. Please ring the facility to obtain a timeslot between 9.30am and 2.30pm (Monday to Friday) and provide your contact details and preferred contact method.
  2. 30-minute time slots will be available
  3. Activities staff will make the call to you at the allocated time
  4. Calls will be limited to 15 minutes

Linda and I are very lucky to have such wonderful, dedicated staff who are going the extra mile in our time of need.
My management team members are doing their very best to support their staff and your loved ones and if you have any concerns regarding their wellbeing, please contact the Manager directly.

I will keep you updated if there are any further changes.
We are here to help, so please let us know if you have any queries or concerns.

Keep well and be safe.

Kind regards
