Singing the Old Favourites
When a karaoke session starts up at The Manor it always entices our music lovers to give their vocal cords a workout.
The days of following the words on a big TV screen are long gone and now, the activity team uses a tablet that connects via Bluetooth to a microphone and small speaker. The techie advances are all good, but what’s really important is getting together with one another for a sing-along and clapping to encourage singers to croon to their heart’s content.
Tried and true favourites include Que Sera Sera and You Are My Sunshine, and the residents say singing the tunes in a group builds fellowship and they all just love music. Also, sharing karaoke singing together goes to show how adept our older people are at keeping themselves entertained.
