There are many options for specialised care, as each resident requires individualised care planning. It can be challenging to establish which form of care is the right choice and when the next level of care may be required.
Respite Care
Respite care provides primary caregivers with a short-term option to take a break from caring for their loved one, while ensuring their loved one is in safe hands.
At Ambridge Rose, we understand that being a primary caregiver can be emotionally and physically challenging, so we offer respite care as a way for caregivers to take a moment to recuperate, recharge, and return refreshed.
Respite care may also benefit more than just the caregiver – it can be of benefit to the person receiving care, too. Respite care can provide a new environment or opportunity for a resident to participate in, helping to prevent carer burnout, while maintaining a high standard of care and quality of life.
Ambridge Rose’s respite care is available at our Private Hospital and Rest Home, The Manor. The Manor offers 104 well-appointed single bedrooms and provides access to an on-site Registered Nurse and Healthcare Assistants around the clock. We also offer regular activities and programmes to keep our residents engaged and entertained. We can accommodate any dietary requirements as well.
We encourage you to reach out to us to discuss whether respite care is right for you and your loved one.

Palliative Care
Palliative care aims to improve the quality of life of people living with serious or chronic illness.
Palliative care often focuses on managing symptoms and pain, with the goal of making residents feel as comfortable as possible. Palliative care is also about providing spiritual, mental and emotional support.
At Ambridge Rose, palliative care is a team effort led by our specialist Registered Nurses through to our Healthcare Assistants, all guided by our residents and their families wishes.

Hospice Care
Hospice care provides comfort and support for those in the final stage of their lives, while also supporting families during the process. There is a strong focus on comfort, managing pain, and minimising distress when curative treatments are no longer an option.
While The Manor is not a hospice, we do provide hospice related services in the form of palliative care, and work closely with local hospice organisations to support residents and families at the end of life stage.
Depending on the form or stage of illness, people entering hospice care may no longer be able to make decisions about their own health or lifestyle, and are therefore reliant on their families to make these difficult decisions.
Often in the final stages of life, people may be unable to express pain or discomfort or be unable to communicate this with their caregiver. It’s important to secure a specialised care provider who is trained to identify this and provide care that allows people to live their lives with dignity.
At Ambridge Rose, we believe everyone deserves to be treated like family, and our team focus on ensuring every resident receives the upmost compassion, respect, empathy and dignity as they approach their final life stage.
We know this can be an incredibly difficult time, and by creating a supportive and respectful environment, we find families can better navigate the challenges of grief and reach a sense of closure that can be invaluable in the healing process.
