Reflecting on the holiday season at Ambridge Rose

Now well into 2025, the team here at Ambridge Rose wanted to share the highlights from a busy and very festive holiday season across our four facilities here in East Auckland.

Complete with Ambridge Rose Chief Executive Allan Sargeant as our very own Saint Nick, the Sargeant and Pullar families took a trip around our care facilities, giving presents and treats to residents and Ambridge Rose staff.

We loved creating a homely, joy-filled holiday environment and we were proud to recognise the service and hard work of our staff during the holiday period.

Christmas with Ambridge Rose

Christmas and the holiday season is a time for family, warmth and giving, and wanted to bring some joy to our residents across The Manor, The Beach House, The Cottage and The Villa.

Christmas with Emergency Services

We enjoy the holiday season in peace and quiet, the brave and dedicated members of our emergency services are active, working and responding to emergencies during the holiday season.

Ambridge Rose Sales and Marketing Manager Angela, and her children Jessica and Cameron enjoyed dropping off a range of home-baked cupcakes to the Counties-Manukau Fire and Emergency NZ, Counties-Manukau Police and St John Manukau.

We thank our local heroes for their service during the holiday season and for the continued support and assistance at our Ambridge Rose facilities. We know we couldn’t do what we do without them.

Christmas Carols at The Beach House

Residents at The Beach House were treated to Christmas carols from the girls at the local Brownies Pakuranga (GirlGuides NZ). It was a joy to both residents and carers to hear traditional, nostalgic Christmas carols through the halls.

Our residents were even able to hand out some chocolate treats to some of the Girl Guides by way of a thank you.

Giving the gift of charity at Christmas

We believe Christmas is a time for giving at Ambridge Rose.

We regularly do food drives across our four facilities, going towards various families in need, and during December, staff from across our four facilities were busy collecting non-perishable food and goods to give to the Howick All Saints Anglican Church, who run a local foodbank that offers free and confidential food parcels.

Dog day afternoon at The Beach House

Residents at The Beach House were delighted to be joined by team members from the local St John pet therapy branch, often bring their dogs to visit our residents. We all loved seeing the dogs dressed up in festivewear!

Ambridge Rose and Elm Park School

In December, staff found themselves overwhelmed with love and support off the back of a very kind gesture from the local Elm Park School.

In collaboration with Youth Project NZ, a national charity focused on helping local youth reconnect with their communities, students from years five and six placed lovely messages of positivity, kindness and support into beautifully-decorated jars for staff working at our private hospital and rest home, The Manor.

Ambridge Rose sales and marketing manager Angela said the heartwarming gesture made the staff’s whole month.

“Our staff are so appreciative. It’s such a wonderful thing from the school to show kindness.”

Youth Project NZ said the charity had loved working with the students and were pleased the jars made a difference.
