Meet Bonnie! Visitors bring joy to The Beach House

At The Beach House, we cherish every opportunity to bring joy and happiness to our residents and create a sense of community. One recent highlight for our residents has been regular visits from our kind neighbour Robyn, and her beloved dog Bonnie.

Robyn often takes Bonnie along the beach for walks, and if Bonnie isn’t too wet from her much-loved swim, they come in to say ‘Hello’.

Bonnie’s favourite time to visit is during morning tea, as she tends to receive a sweet treat (or two) from the residents.

When our residents hear Bonnie’s name, they often start singing ‘My Bonnie lies over the ocean’. It’s these moments that truly show the happiness and comfort that Robyn and Bonnie bring to our residents. Based on the smile on Bonnie’s face in these photos, we think the feeling is mutual!

“Whenever a dog enters a room with people living with dementia, they are simply delighted,” says Diana, our Diversional Therapist at Ambridge Rose. We are extremely grateful to Robyn for taking time out of her day to visit with Bonnie, and for the absolute joy that she and Bonnie bring with each visit.
