Ambridge Rose Villa - Reading famous Aotearoa author

The writings of Katherine Mansfield are world renown, especially as she was a somewhat rebellious author and poet.

In January, Ann read The Voyage (published in 1921) with the residents.

When she introduced the story Ann outlined Mansfield’s talent for capturing the everyday concerns of ordinary people. 

Mansfield was also famous for living a decadent and outrageous lifestyle.

Some residents had read Mansfield’s work but didn’t remember the stories.

The morning was a relaxing moment to escape into a the world of fiction.
