Making toys for SPCA
Sometimes only it takes a little bit of planning and imagination to turn old bits of junk into something that gives another creature a good day.

Recently, the residents spent an afternoon making toys out of old cardboard cylinders and some cloth. With a few cuts, a bit of wool and some creative paintwork, the cardboard tubes made fun toys for playful kittens or cats. Other residents concentrated on plaiting strips of cloth to make sturdy ropes that are perfect for a game of tug-of-war with an energetic puppy or dog. Everyone was very focussed on the task and had a bit of a laugh—wondering if the cats would care if the painted decorations were up to scratch…

The toys will be delivered to the SPCA, which will be going into its busy season now. More photos here.
